OH HEY...

I'm Christie (If you hadn’t already guessed from the name of my brand…), a documentary-style wedding and lifestyle photographer. Which basically means I’m all about real moments, genuine connection, and capturing the good stuff as it naturally unfolds - no awkward posing marathons required (unless you're into that, in which case, let's go!).
My photography journey...
...kicked off the day my family swapped our old film camera for a shiny new DSLR - and I’ve been hooked ever since. These days, I still carry a disposable camera for fun (because who doesn’t love a bit of nostalgia?), but digital photography has my heart.
Where I'm based
I’m right on the Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire border, and when I’m not photographing incredible couples or chasing kids through a field for the perfect family shot, you’ll probably find me with friends or family - and yes, still with a camera in hand. I’m that person who documents everything. Every party has one.
My style?
Relaxed, candid, and quietly in the background. I’ll capture your day as it really happens - the big emotions, the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it glances, and everything in between. Whether you're all about couple portraits or prefer me to lurk like a friendly ninja, I’ll work around you to reflect your day, your way.
The other side of my world
Alongside weddings, I work as a medical photographer. That experience has shaped the way I approach wedding days: observant, adaptable, and comfortable in fast-moving, emotional environments while staying calm and respectful. Outside of photography, I love being outdoors, skiing whenever I get the chance, and I’m a massive dog lover. If there’s a dog at your wedding, chances are I’ll have photographed them before I’ve even said hello to anyone else.
If you’d rather enjoy your wedding day than spend it posing for the camera, we’ll probably get along really well.

FAQs
What is your style of photography?
My photography style is a blend of documentary and contemporary approaches. I aim to capture candid moments as they unfold naturally, while also ensuring beautiful and timeless portraits.
Do you offer a second photographer?
For wedding photography, yes. A second photographer can be added if you’d like additional coverage. This can be particularly helpful for larger weddings, separate preparations, or capturing multiple perspectives during key moments such as the ceremony.
What is your availability?
My availability varies throughout the year, taking into consideration peak season for weddings, school holidays and my own annual leave. To find out if I'm available for your date, please fill out a contact form here.
Do we receive sneak peeks?
Yes. I usually send a small selection of preview images within a few days of your wedding. During quieter periods this may be sooner, while at busier times it can take a little longer. Either way, you won’t be waiting long to relive those first moments.
What is the turn around time for receiving edited photos?
For wedding coverage, I aim to deliver your fully edited gallery within nine weeks of your wedding day. In most cases, images are ready sooner, but during busier periods this timeframe allows me to give every wedding the time and care it deserves.
For lifestyle sessions, galleries will be delivered within approximately 1 month.
When did you start Christie's Lens?
Christie’s Lens came to life in 2020, straight after I graduated with a photography degree and decided to take the very sensible route of starting my own business. What started as a leap of faith quickly became a space where I could shape photography on my own terms - slower, more intentional, and centered on real people and real moments.
I photographed my first wedding in the same year, throwing myself in at the deep end as the solo photographer for a Covid wedding. I have continued to photograph weddings both independently and alongside other photographers since then.
Why does editing take time?
I don’t rely on quick filters or batch editing. Each image is edited individually, with care and consistency, to reflect the tone and feeling of the day.
When you book me, you’re not just booking coverage on the wedding day itself, but the time spent carefully curating and finishing your images so they tell your story properly.
